The mission of the Motivated Change Research Lab (MCRL) is understanding the cognitive, motivational, and emotional processes that lead to attitude change, conceptual change, and successful learning, particularly in STEM. MCRL research is dedicated to identifying motivational factors and conditions that contribute to the likelihood that individuals will change their attitudes and thinking. Under the supervision of Dr. Gale M. Sinatra, the lab supports the research programs of Dr. Sinatra and her post docs and graduate students. MCRL current programs of research include climate science education, evolution education, and the public understanding of science.
